Continued austerity means that the public sector is looking for responsive, adaptable and added value solutions.
As a small SME we provide a distinctive and cost-effective offering.
Our flood risk assessment tools lead the industry. The WHS engineers and scientists behind Flood Estimation Handbook software, WINFAP and ReFH, have nationally recognised expertise in the cost-effective application of flood and low flows hydrology.
We are pleased to have been awarded a place on the Welsh Government framework for flood modelling services, the only SME to achieve this, a reflection of our national credibility.
WHS work in this sector includes strategic and development flood risk assessments (FRAs), FRA/SUDS review, training and coastal studies for many local authorities including West Oxfordshire, Mansfield, Winchester, Powys, Conwy and Monmouthshire. This has included the production of business cases for flood defences in accordance with Treasury guidelines.
We have also undertaken wider regional scale modelling and research studies for Natural Resources Wales, Environment Agency and Defra and site-specific fieldwork studies for RSPB and Scottish Natural Heritage.
The last word from our clients
“In preparing a Level 2 SFRA the WHS team provided an extremely competent and professional service at a competitive price. The project was completed on time and to a high standard. WHS’ PM was readily available throughout, actively engaged with relevant stakeholders and was always responsive to suggested comments and amendments. Highly recommended.”
