Your role in a nutshell: I am a Technical Director (Hydrogeology) within the consultancy business of the company, with responsibilities in hydrogeology marketing and technical project leadership.
When you joined WHS: 2021
Your experience: I am a chartered engineer and professional hydrogeologist, and graduated from the University of Manitoba, Canada, with a PhD in Civil & Geological Engineering. I have 30 years’ experience working in the environmental industry with previous positions held as Technology Specialist for BP Remediation in the UK and America, and Lead Hydrogeologist for WSP and Wardell Armstrong. I am a subject matter expert in hydrogeology, water quality, risk assessment, and contaminated land. My experience has grown through working on large global environmental liability portfolios for the Energy Sector (BP, Esso, National Grid, Wind Farms), as well as large infrastructure, development and remediation projects throughout the UK (Fawley Refinery, Baglan Bay Energy Park, Barry Chemical Works, LLandarcy, HS2, England Homes).
Why you like working for WHS: I enjoy working within a small team, able to drive projects, and given the responsibility to develop and broaden water services, in particular in hydrogeology and water quality, within WHS.
What drives you: I am driven by the passion for science and the water environment. I am keen to develop project specific solutions that help protect and improve water quality and water resources for future generations.
What you like doing when not working: I enjoy gardening and training working dogs (German Shepherd Dogs).
