This one-day course will be of benefit to practitioners who want to assess natural water resource availability and variability, and how to account for the impacts of water use and return on that resource.  Starting from the hydrological processes that influence river flow regimes attendees will gain practical experience in how to estimate low flows and the flow duration curve within catchments with limited or no measured flow data. The course covers the LowFlows hydrological models and use of the software. It explores how to incorporate local measurement through transposition and the record extension of short at site flow measurements.  Uncertainty estimation is a key component of resource estimation and clear insights into the sources of estimation uncertainty and how to quantify and combine these sources will be provided.
