WINFAP-FEH 3 software training

Course outline
The WINFAP-FEH 3 software, released 9 September 2009, is a significant advance upon previous versions. Visit our WINFAP-FEH 3 webpage for details of the method updates and enhancements included.
This one-day course provides tuition on the statistical procedures for flood frequency estimation, as outlined in the Flood Estimation Handbook Volume 3, and includes subsequent scientific advances. The course provides hands-on experience in the use and application of WINFAP-FEH 3 software through structured exercises.
Topics covered will include:
- Outline of the Flood Estimation Handbook (FEH)
- Introduction to flood frequency estimation
- Use of the FEH CD-ROM 3, and integration with WINFAP-FEH 3
- Estimating QMED at ungauged and gauged sites
- Adjusting QMED by data transfer from a donor station
- When to use different analysis methods
- Single Site, Pooled and Enhanced Single Site analysis
- Growth Curve estimation
- Production of Flood Frequency Curve
- New functionality of WINFAP-FEH 3
Who should attend?
This course will particularly benefit practitioners who wish to gain practical experience and understanding of the latest WINFAP-FEH 3 flood estimation software. As all the key principles of the FEH statistical method are covered, the course is suitable for both new users of FEH software and existing users who would like to consolidate their knowledge and learn more of the latest scientific advances.
Tutor
Tuition will be provided by Dr David Mould, a hydrological consultant with WHS, who has notable experience in assessing flood risk and the inundation of flood-prone areas. He is responsible for customer support and future development of WINFAP-FEH software.

Hilton Glasgow Grosvenor Hotel. This hotel is located in heart of Glasgow's West End, 20 minutes from the airport, 5 minutes from the M8 motorway and 5 minutes from Hillhead Underground Station. Limited complementary parking is available. Overnight accomodation can be arranged on request.
