We are based at the Wallingford site of the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology, on Benson Lane, between the offices of the South Oxfordshire District Council and Howbery Park.

Road from London journey time is 60-90 minutes depending on the time of day. We are 20-30 minutes from the following motorway junctions: M4 J8/9, M4 J12 & M40 J6 (from London and the south-east); M4 J13 (from the west/south-west), and M40 J8 (from the midlands/north).

Rail the nearest mainline station is Didcot Parkway (6 miles), with local stations at Cholsey (4 miles), and Goring and Streatley (5 miles). Frequent express trains run from London (Paddington) to Didcot Parkway via Reading, with an approximate journey time of 42 minutes (25 minutes to Reading). Taxis are available outside Didcot Parkway (but not the smaller stations).

Bus a daily express service (X39) runs from Oxford to Wallingford via Crowmarsh Gifford (closest bus stop is just outside Jewson's). It departs from St Aldates stop, H5, near Christ Church. Journey time is approximately 25 minutes from Oxford to Crowmarsh. The express service X40 from Reading station (stop SE) to Crowmarsh church, via Wallingford, takes approximately 40 minutes.

Air London Heathrow airport is about 40 miles/65 km away. There is a rail-air coach link to Reading station; the Heathrow Express train goes to London Paddington (see above). Other airports include Gatwick (70 miles/115 km - hourly train service to Reading), Luton (about 65 miles/105 km), Birmingham International (about 80 miles/125 km - train service to Oxford) and Stansted (about 95 miles/150 km).
