FEH CD-ROM 2

The FEH CD-ROM, developed by CEH, provides you with the catchment descriptor and rainfall average values required to apply the Flood Estimation Handbook methods.

Its geographical user interface enables you to select any point on the 1:50,000 UK river network (provided the catchment area is in excess of 0.5 km²) and automatically defines the upstream catchment. Once selected the software provides you with:

the full range of catchment descriptor values
catchment average values of the six rainfall depth-duration-frequency model parameters (FEH Volume 2).

These data are fully compatible with WINFAP-FEH and ReFH software products.

What's new with FEH CD-ROM 2

FEH CD-ROM 2 was released in 2007. This offers significant advances to the data and software functionality provided by Version 1 as follows:

Improved catchment boundary and drainage path definition

FEH CD-ROM 2 incorporates the significant advances made since 1999 in the Digital Terrain Model and digital land cover mapping.

Extended coverage

FEH CD-ROM 2 now covers the whole of the UK, including the Scottish Islands, Isle of Wight, Anglesey and Northern Ireland.

Improved definition of urban extent

FEH CD-ROM 2 includes a new catchment descriptor (URBEXT2000) based upon the updated definition of built up areas in the CEH Land Cover Map 2000.

FEH CD-ROM 2 is available for purchase/upgrade from our online shop under a 3-year renewable licence. Version 1 licence holders can purchase FEH CD-ROM 2 at reduced rates with provision of Version 1 licence details. A discounted educational version is also available for teaching purposes at recognised academic institutions.
