Company history

Wallingford HydroSolutions (WHS) was founded in 2004 as a specialist technology transfer company at the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology (CEH), the UK's Centre of Excellence for research in the land and freshwater environmental sciences. WHS provides a wide range of hydrological, water quality and aquatic habitat consultancy services with a focus on the assessment of resource availability, the potential impacts of development and the derivation of cost effective, mitigation measures.

We also provide leading information technology solutions to the water and environmental sectors, including the national standard Low Flows 2000 system for resource estimation within ungauged catchments. Through the extensive experience of its staff the company is well established in the UK and the wider European water industry and environmental consultancy sectors.

WHS is expanding rapidly and has a team of technical staff including leading specialists in hydrology, water resources, water quality, risk assessment and the development of bespoke and commercial environmental software systems.

Key WHS staff also work within CEH thus ensuring the pull through of the leading science into the delivery of our consultancy services. WHS has a policy of working with clients to understand their requirements and to deliver high-class solutions within their budget and operational constraints.
